YouniqMail [0.9.2] - 2026-08-27 ✨ New Features Thread attachments summary starts expanded and added setting: The attachments summary panel in a conversation now opens expanded by default, so all attachments of a thread are visible at a glance without an extra click. A new "Default state" option under Settings → Email detail → Thread attachments summary lets you choose whether the panel starts expanded or collapsed; the live preview on that page reflects your choice immediately. 🔧 Improvements The "Pin to top" entry in the email list's context menu now uses the same pin icon as the conversation header. Resetting the dashboard or statistics layout now asks for confirmation: The "Reset" button in the edit mode of the dashboard and the statistics page now show a confirmation dialog, so an accidental click no longer wipes your customizations. Right-click menus now speak your language: All native context menus are now translated into all supported languages and follow the app language selected in the settings instead of always showing English. This covers the email list's right-click menu (including the Flag, Snooze, Tags, Note and Pin submenus), the menus inside an opened email, the text editor menu with its spell-check suggestions, and the sidebar menus for mailboxes, saved searches, smart folders and tags. The date and time previews in the Snooze submenu ("Tomorrow (Tue, Aug 25, 09:00)") now also use your app language's format instead of the operating system's. Missing and incorrect translations fixed: Various texts that were still shown in English regardless of the selected app language, or that were worded incorrectly, have been corrected across all supported languages. Some tooltips in the sidebar were always shown in English. They now follow the app language selected in the settings. Unsubscribing from several newsletters at once no longer gets stuck: The newsletters were processed one after another, and a single unsubscribe server that accepted the request but never answered stopped the whole run right there. Everything behind it stayed subscribed while the app kept waiting indefinitely. Such a request is now given up on after a few seconds, and the remaining newsletters are processed as usual. Performance improvements on Smart folder counts. Security improvements. 🐛 Bug Fixes Pinned emails no longer lose their pin when another device moves them: If a pinned email was moved to a different folder from your phone, from webmail or by a rule on the mail server, YouniqMail dropped the pin without a word and the email sank back into the normal sort order. Moving the same email inside YouniqMail kept it, so whether a pin survived depended on where the move was made. Pins now stay with the email itself and survive folder moves from anywhere, just as notes, tags and follow-ups already did. A pin now also applies to every copy of the same email, so an email that sits in two folders shows as pinned in both. Emails without quoted history no longer show a "Show earlier messages (0)" button that did nothing when clicked. The button now only appears when there are actually earlier messages to reveal. Sent emails now reliably reach your Sent folder on the mail server: If the copy could not be uploaded on the first try (for example because the connection dropped just after sending, or the app was closed during the upload), it was never uploaded afterwards either. The email appeared in your Sent folder in YouniqMail and looked perfectly normal, while on the server it did not exist at all. Such copies are now uploaded on the next attempt. While an email was stuck this way, the affected account was repeatedly treated as offline. Sending further emails, folder actions performed offline and the synchronization of that account were held back for minutes at a time, even though the connection was working. The check whether a copy already exists on the server now finds it reliably. Previously it could miss an existing copy and upload a second one, so single emails appeared twice in the Sent folder. Smart folders with "None of the conditions" now show the right emails: A smart folder set to "None of the conditions" still listed emails that matched one of its conditions, as long as they did not match every one of them. A folder meant to exclude both "Project" and "invoice", for example, kept showing emails that mentioned just one of the two. Only emails matching none of the conditions are listed now, and the counts shown in the sidebar were corrected in the same way. Folders with a single condition were never affected. Emails that carry no flag colour, or no date, are no longer silently dropped from such a folder when they should be included. Drafts that failed to upload are now retried for real: When a draft could not be uploaded to the mail server right away (for example because you were offline at the time), it stayed behind for good. The retry running in the background every few minutes never uploaded it and reported success regardless, so the unsynced counter dropped to zero and the draft looked synchronized while it existed only on this computer. Such drafts are now uploaded on the next attempt, with their recipients, Cc, Reply-To and attachments intact. Moving unread emails no longer clears their flags: With "Mark as read when moving to trash" (or the matching options for junk and archive) turned on, moving an unread email there stripped everything else from it: its flag colour, its tags, and whether it had been replied to or forwarded. The email kept only its new "read" state until the next synchronization brought the rest back. All flags are now preserved, and only the "read" state is added. Copying emails into a local folder works again: Dragging emails onto a local folder did nothing at all, and so did "Copy to" and "Move to" from the right-click menu when the target was a local folder. When a copy does fail, the message now names the actual reason instead of the same generic "Copy failed" for every cause. "Copy to" into another folder on the mail server works again: Copying emails into a regular (non-local) folder through the right-click menu reported a failure every time, even though the copy had already reached the mail server. Importing emails from files works again: Importing .eml, .mbox or Apple Mail .emlx files under Settings → Import / Export always finished with nothing imported, whether the file held one email or hundreds. Rebuilding the newsletter detection no longer wipes your newsletters: "Regenerate Newsletter Detection" under Settings → Advanced re-reads all emails from the mail server, but it emptied the newsletter list before checking whether the server could be reached at all. Without an internet connection the list was cleared and nothing was read back, and the app still reported success with "0 newsletters". Newsletters you had already unsubscribed from came back as active subscriptions, which some senders treat as signing up again. The list is now kept during the rebuild and your unsubscribed newsletters stay unsubscribed. Rebuilding the newsletter detection now says when it cannot run: Starting it without an internet connection, or while a synchronization is running, no longer looks as if the rebuild had started. It now tells you why it has to wait. If something goes wrong during the rebuild (for example an account whose password is missing), you are told about it instead of getting a success message. Deleted emails no longer come back: When the mail server refused a deletion, YouniqMail did not notice. The email disappeared from the list, no error was shown, and the next synchronization brought it back as if nothing had happened. Deletions are now confirmed by the server before the email leaves your list, so it either really is gone or you can see that it was not deleted. This affected permanently deleting emails (for example emptying the trash) and, in the same way, deleting a draft, which vanished here but stayed in your Drafts folder on every other device. The same blind spot existed for actions carried out while offline: emptying the outbox counted them as done even when the server had rejected them, and the request was lost for good. Such an action is now retried, and if it keeps failing it stays visible in the outbox instead of disappearing. Tags now really reach the mail server: A tag the server refused was still shown as set on your emails, but no other device ever saw it. Tags that cannot be applied are no longer displayed as if they had been. Moving emails no longer picks the wrong message: When the mail server refused a move, YouniqMail treated it as if it had gone through and then went looking for the email in the target folder. If a copy of the same email happened to be there, your list entry was silently attached to that copy while the original stayed where it was; if no copy was found, the email disappeared from the list without any error and without being retried. Moves are now confirmed by the server. This affected moving to trash, junk and archive as well as snoozing. Folders that exist only in YouniqMail are now created on the mail server: A move into such a folder was refused by the server every time, which is what made the problem above so easy to run into. If the target folder is missing, it is now created and the move is repeated automatically. An account without a trash folder got one in YouniqMail only, so every deletion into it was affected; the same applied to the Snoozed folder when it had been created while you were offline. Deleting while a synchronization is running is now safe: On rare occasions a deletion could be sent to whichever folder the running synchronization had opened at that moment, rather than the folder you were looking at. Deletions now wait briefly for exclusive access to the right folder. If the folder stays busy, the deletion reports a failure instead of going ahead, and you can simply repeat it. Flag colours no longer change when a tag is deleted: A tag named "MailFlagBit0" could appear in the sidebar, the tag list and the search without ever having been created. It was not a real tag but part of how flag colours are stored, and deleting it changed the colours of every email carrying it, on all your devices and in other email programs as well: orange turned red, green turned yellow and purple turned blue. Such a tag is now no longer created, and an existing one is removed automatically when the app starts, leaving your flag colours untouched. Colours that were already changed this way cannot be restored. Smart folders that could never match anything are no longer silently empty: A smart folder could be saved with a condition its type does not support, for example "Has attachments" combined with "exists". Such a folder simply stayed empty, without any hint that the condition was the reason, while the app still searched your entire mailbox for it after every synchronization. These combinations are now rejected when you save the folder, with a message naming the condition and the operators that do work. An existing folder of this kind stays empty as before, but no longer costs any search time.
